Instructor Bio

Lynda Gronlund. I'm an ACE-certified personal trainer and martial arts instructor. My background in physical training started at age 7 when I started taking dance lessons which I continued until I graduated from high school. In college I began training in Western European broadsword, eventually becoming an instructor at Aegis Academy of Swordsmanship where I also received instruction in a form of military jujitsu. I spent a semester in London where I was able to study Kung Fu. In 2007 I began studying kickboxing as well as Tang Soo Do Karate, becoming an instructor in both before receiving my ACE certification. I am 28 years old and hope to keep learning new skills and knowledge for a long time to come.

About my training:

My training is different for everyone depending on their goals, but some aspects remain the same. The fitness industry thrives on empty promises of getting fit quick with little effort. This never works and only makes people feel badly about themselves and sinks them deeper into unhealthy habits and attitudes. I help people make gradual change toward healthier and more fit lives by tailoring plans to each individual and setting realistic and specific goals. I emphasize strength, endurance and flexibility which are the three components of complete physical fitness, and I incorporate traditional exercises as well as movements from martial arts, dance, pilates and yoga. I work with people at every fitness level from beginners to people looking for a very challenging workout.
