Kristi Davis Kristi has a Master of Arts in Transpersonal Drama Therapy Studies with a specialization in Psychoneuroimmunology. She is also a Registered Drama Therapist Candidate, a member of the National Association for Drama Therapy, and a member of the Society for the Arts in Healthcare.
Kristi became passionate about drama therapy and the mind-body-spirit connection after these approaches helped her improve not only her challenged physical health but also her mental/emotional and spiritual well-being. Her quest for holistic health led her on an incredible journey of self-discovery facilitated through the creative arts and psycho-spiritual study.
Kristi works with individuals, couples, and groups of all ages using a holistic, psychotherapeutic approach that may include the use of drama and theater techniques, art, writing, poetry, dance and movement, music and sound, guided imagery meditation, cognitive-behavioral exercises, relaxation techniques, and verbal discussion—all of which have been employed successfully to help treat people with various physical and psychological challenges. Kristi operates under the assumption that, at their core, all people are already healthy and whole. Healing is a matter of uncovering the perfect health that already exists within each of us.
Drama and other creative arts are especially effective at fostering healing and personal growth, as they tap into the right-brain world of symbolism, images, emotions, and patterns, where the unconscious secrets to our self-destructive behavior and beliefs may often be found. Creative arts also offer powerful methods for self-expression when words alone may not suffice. In addition, in and of itself, the act of creating can have tremendous healing value.
